*ACTIVE vs. PASSIVE*

Write two sentences using the verb blow.

In the first sentence, use the word in the active voice; in the second sentence, use it in the passive voice.

1- active voice
The wind blows across the bay.

2- passive voice
The wind blew across the bay.

Jaquelyn, you still seem to have trouble distinguishing between the passive voice and the past tense. Here are some examples using the past tense:

Active: The wind blew the ship into the rocks.
Passive: The ship was blown into the rocks by the wind.


Here are some examples in the present tense:

Active: In this episode, the secret agent blows his cover.
Passive: In this episode, the secret agent's cover is blown.
