Vocabulary building is important for both reading comprehension and writing.
Use the following two words in one sentence (note the parts of speech).
disparage (verb) and excoriate (verb).

I have never worked in such a place; people often disparage others, and even excoriate them publicly.
In one of my courses, the professor often excoriates the students and makes remarks to disparage his students if they try to answer questions.
The manger was rebuked for the disparaging remarks made in an excoriating tone.
