Last night, many young children eagerly rang my doorbell on Halloween.
Many young children eagerly rang my doorbell on Halloween because I´m well-known for my pumpkin candy.
Many young children eagerly rang my doorbell on Halloween; they were so deseperate to eat candies.
Good try, Yousa. But the combination of "last night" and "on Halloween" sounds a little odd.
I think this is because, "last night" and "Halloween" turn out to be the same day.
This sentence sounds fine, however:
"Last year, many young children eagerly rang my doorbell on Halloween."
