BUILD-A-SENTENCE

Write a sentence using the vocabulary and grammar indicated. Do not use a semi-colon.

Write a sentence using a dependent clause in the past perfect progressive tense and an independent clause in the simple past.

Correction
The engine was found broken, but it had been considered working before.

Good try, Logan. But your dependent clause is not in the progressive tense. In this case, "working" actually serves as an adjective.

Here is an example that meets the requirements of the problem:

Because I had been studying grammar all semester, I did very well on my exam.
