*ACTIVE vs. PASSIVE*

Write two sentences using the verb forgive.

In the first sentence, use the word in the active voice; in the second sentence, use it in the passive voice.

Mark forgave his friend for punching him in the face. Even though he had punched him in the face, Mark forgave his friend.

Active voice: I forgive you.
Passive voice: I forgave you.

Unfortunately, you have both confused the passive voice with the past tense.

Here is a possible answer:

Active: The victim would never forgive the criminal.
Passive: The criminal would never be forgiven by the victim.

Remember, the passive voice uses the be verb (i.e.: "is", "am", "are", "were", "be") and the participle (e.g., "forgiven").
