*VOCABULARY*

Vocabulary building is important for both reading comprehension and writing. 

Use the following two words in one sentence (note the parts of speech).

autonomy (noun) and discredit (verb).

Developing countries can risk their local governments to lose autonomy, and this discredits their positions.

Excellent!

But, Suzanne, in this case I think you need the gerund form of "lose", not the infinitive:

Developing countries can risk their local governments losing autonomy, and this discredits their positions.
