While we had been studying, mom had gone out to buy dinner, but she forgot to pick our little brother on her way back.
I had been playing piano, my little sister had wanted to play me song, so I gave her a chance to play the song that she wanted to.

But you forgot the conjunction for your dependent clause, Madicynn.
I think you want to say something like:
WHILE I had been playing piano, my little sister had wanted to play me a song, so I gave her a chance to play the song that she wanted.
