2. Last week, my next-door neighbour had a heart attack, she was rushed to hospital by ambulance.

Michael, I really have trouble with this one.

Hi krisla. These are tough!

1. The first answer calls for a gerund, so look for a verb that you can do this with:

Having had a heart attack last week, my next-door neighbour was rushed to hospital by ambulance.

2. This was my mistake. I meant to ask for an appositive, not an infinitive. I don't think it's possible to join these with an infinitive. To join them with an appositive, we need to find a useful noun:

Due to her illness, a heart attack, my next-door neighbour was rushed to hospital by ambulance last week.

3. Using a relative pronoun to combine the sentences is perhaps the easiest:

My next-door neighbour, who had had a heart attack, was rushed to hospital by ambulance last week.
