*VOCABULARY*

Vocabulary building is important for both reading comprehension and writing. 

Use the following two words in one sentence (note the part of speech).

abdicate (verb)  +  democracy (noun)

Democracy allowed the people to abdicate the King from the throne.

Good try, krisla. But abdicate means to relinquish or renounce authority, so you can't "abdicate the king".

Consider something like:

"The king abdicated the throne, allowing democracy to take hold."
