Past Progressive tense: I was riding my bike all day yesterday

Jaquelyn, you have not used the past progressive; you used the present perfect.
Taylor, you have written two independent clauses.
Logan, you have used a comma splice to join two independent clauses.

Here is an example solution:

Because I was planning for this day, I am prepared to do well.

-"Because I was planning for this day" is a dependent clause.
-"Because" is a subordinating conjunction, which makes the first part of the sentence a dependent clause.
-"Was planning" is in the past progressive tense.
-"I am prepared to do well" is an independent clause.
-"Am" is in the simple present tense.
